Descriptive writing

As I walk towards the carnival I feel damp grass under foot. when I got closer I could hear people talking and laughing. I could smell the rich aroma of the food as I walked past the crowd. As I got to some of the games I could hear children nagging there parents to have a go.when I got to the ferris wheel I hop on and end up at the top. Term 4 wk 1

This week we started our topic and writing on space and we chose a planet and wrote about it. 

I chose to do mars the red planet.

Mars gets its red appearance from the iron in its soil . The name Mars came from the Roman God of War because of all the fire. 

On Thursday this week we had athletics. We walked down after lunch and started at 2 pm .

First off we had 60 metres sprint then discuss,fun relays , 100 metre sprint and High jump.

I came first in high jump and jumped 1.13 meters. I was really exited and happy when I made it first place in high jump.

This week for maths we did bar graphs ,fractions and percentages.

We had to find the fraction of the amount then simplified it and then turned it in to a percentage .

Today Friday we have Grandparents day and my granny came and looked at all my work.

T4 W6 Writing reflection

This week for writing we wrote a recount about the earthquake . W.A.L.T Use punctuation properly

Last night there was an earthquake and I slept right through it. This morning I woke up later than usel and wondered why Mum had the news on I asked

,what has happened, the TV replied with , dangerous earthquake has struck the whole country and kaikoura is blocked off by massive slip, I was shocked then mum said

,did you feel it, I answered with , no I slept right through it , .Mum said , How did you sleep through that ,

, I don’t know , I replied. Mathum said that the dog was sleeping in there room because she was scared of the earthquake. When I got to school everyone was talking about the earthquake. Most of the people at school woke up during the earthquake. After break we had a earthquake Drill and had to line up in our classes and have our names called out to see if we were there. After lunch we went to the library and there was an aftershock so we had to evacuate the building and go out to the field.

T4 W5 Writing Reflection

This week for writing I wrote what kind of magic creature I would like to be. I would like to be a dragon that has a hoard of golden treasure. Next time I'm going to make it more awesome. I'm going to make it better by putting in more detail and what it looks like. 

T4 W4 literacy Reflection

     This week for reading we had to write three short paragraphs . There were three different types of writing the first one is to entertain second to inform and third to persuade . The paragraphs were based on you being an explorer and you were going to explore a jungle that no one else has explored.

This week for writing we started our myths and legends writing . I did task four which is draw a magical creature you made up and give it a name and label every thing on it.

This week for word work I did rainbow writing. Rainbow writing is when you write down all your spelling words and and make them look like a rainbow.

W 1 Term 4 `Reflection Writing

This week for writing we had to write an explanation . My explanation was why do cars have licence plates.

Next time I'm going to try not to use the same word so much.

         

Week 9 term three reflection

This week for writing we did two mummy summaries one about embalming and wrapping and the other one was about object's they use and the object's they put in the tomb. I wrote the Embalming and Kaleb W wrote the wrapping.

Term 3 week 7 Reflection

                               Writing

This week for writing we were finishing off our household machine writing. My writing is on how a clock works.We had to write it with out google.

A clock is an object that comes in different shapes and sizes the most common clocks is the digital clock and the dialog clock. This explanation is on a dialog clock which has three hands and a clear sheet of plastic to protect the hands .

There are three different hands on a clock which are the second,minute and hour

The hand’s on a clock are made of thin pieces of metal that have holes at the end of them that go around a piece of metal that spins ever so slowly.

Inside a clock you will find cogs that will spin. The cogs will make the hands spin and the hands will point to the numbers on the clock.

Math 

For math we made a screen caster fie about our math. My one was about using decimals on a number line. Screencastify is when you make a video  of what your doing on the screen.

           

Writing

For writing this week we did a newspaper article about Charlotte's web. We had to at least three paragraphs. It is my most favorite piece of writing I've done about Charlotte's web.
