My fossil fuels essay

Lots of people in New Zealand and new Zealand,s government believe we should become a carbon zero
country by not using fossil fuels any more. Why is this ? well you must have heard of warming? It is what
people all over the world are worried about.

Global warming is causing major changes in the weather making seas rise
And making the planet warmer. How do fossil fuels cause this is what you may be asking?
When we burn and use fossil fuels such as coal oil and gas
The chemicals from them go into our atmosphere and make a massive blanket of
Bad gasses around our planet.
Why does it warm?
When the sun shines on our planet a large amount of it bounces back into space
But since there is the giant blanket of gasses a lot of the  heat cannot bounce back
into space causing the planet to warm.
How does this affect you?
Well global warming could affect you in many ways like hear in New Zealand and
on other south pacific islands the sea is rising causing lots of land arousion near the  beaches.
If you are living in a large city there can be many harmful chemicals in the air you breath and
sometimes acidic rain that will slowly erode stone buildings and other
Similar  building materials .

In some countries they are using renewable sources of energy to avoid using fossil fuels and slow
or hopefully stop global warming. The main ways that we get renewable energy are from hydro electricty from dams that have a turbine that the water spins to create electricity when it leaves the damn. The second main renewable electricity source is solar energy that is
Collected by using solar panels that take i the sun’s energy and convert it to electricity. The third main way of harvesting electricity is wind power which they collect by using giant wind turbines or wind mills that will spin a motor creating electricity .

Over all I hope this information has helped you and may even change your view on global warming.
