If you do not know what the green house effect is it is the cause of global warming.
In case you are wondering what it is i will explain it.
The green house effect is caused by lots of gases causes made by humans such as methane from farming and other gases from fossil fuels like oil and coal.
When these gases are released into the atmosphere they create a blanket around our planet causing it to get warmer. When the sun shines onto our planet a lot of the heat bounces off of the planet but the heat can not do that now because it is stuck under the giant blanket of gas in our atmosphere
In some cases global warming is not causes by humans such as volcanic eruptions releasing hot gasses into the atmosphere causing the planet to warm .
